Basketball Recap: Mound City Comes Up Short

Mound City lost against Worth County back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Mound City Panthers received a blow as they fell 58-43 to the Worth County Tigers.

Worth County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cole Ruby, who posted 19 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Briner, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points and seven boards.

Mound City's defeat dropped their record down to 10-19. As for Worth County, their record now sits at 9-11.

Coming up, Mound City won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Rock Port at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rock Port will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Mound City surely won't give up without a fight. As for Worth County, they are taking a road trip to take on South Holt at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
