Basketball Recap: Hollins Takes a Loss

Hollins lost against Clearwater Central Catholic back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Hollins Royals had to suffer through a 85-41 loss at the hands of the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders. The Royals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-23.

Emme Dalhoff continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Clearwater Central Catholic, going 9 of 18 on her way to 19 points along with eight assists and six boards. Dalhoff is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Sophia Landen was another key player, going 5 for 7 on her way to 14 points and five steals.

Hollins dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Hollins will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Boca Ciega at 7:45 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-20 victory against Northeast on the 20th.
