Baseball Game Preview: Eisenhower Eagles vs. Westfield Mustangs

Eisenhower is 2-8 against Westfield since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Eagles will head out to face off against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Eisenhower has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Eisenhower came up short against Aldine on Thursday, falling 23-8. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Davion Carrier made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one RBI. Eisenhower is 2-1 when Carrier posts two or more runs, but 6-14 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Zequeria, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Westfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of Benjamin Davis. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by just one run.

Enrique Gonzalez and Kayden McNatt stepped up to the plate in a big way. Gonzalez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while McNatt went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Eisenhower's record now sits at 8-15. As for Westfield, their record is now 2-20.

Eisenhower was able to grind out a solid win over Westfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 9-6. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
