Softball Recap: Central Arkansas Christian's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Central Arkansas Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mt. Vernon-Enola Warhawks, sneaking past 10-8. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Warhawks back in April, they had to take a 16-14 defeat.

Kayla Myers was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and five unearned) runs off seven hits. Myers was even better at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kindle Walker, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Addie Browning was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Central Arkansas Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in three consecutive matches.

Central Arkansas Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Mt. Vernon-Enola, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-12.

As of now, neither Central Arkansas Christian nor the Warhawks have any future games scheduled.
