Baseball Game Preview: Mendon Unity Mustangs vs. Camp Point Central Panthers

Mendon Unity is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Camp Point Central a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Mendon Unity Mustangs will welcome the Camp Point Central Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Mendon Unity fell victim to West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 1-0.

The result came thanks to Skylor Goudschaal's shutout, as he gave up just a hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Camp Point Central also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 10-0 to Quincy on Tuesday. The shutout was out of character for the Panthers seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in April.

Camp Point Central's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Mendon Unity, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
