Football Game Preview: Union Redhawks vs. Edmond Memorial Bulldogs

The Union Redhawks will venture away from home to challenge the Edmond Memorial Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edmond Memorial took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Union, who comes in off a win.

Union will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up ten points last Thursday, then bounced right back against Westmoore on Thursday. The Redhawks claimed a resounding 44-7 win over the Jaguars. That looming 44-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Redhawks yet this season.

Meanwhile, Edmond Memorial faced Broken Arrow in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bulldogs took a 29-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The contest marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Although Edmond Memorial took the loss, they still got scores from Bruce 'Trip' Roberts and Cameron Quarrels.

Union pushed their record up to 4-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.0 points over those games. As for Edmond Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Union couldn't quite finish off Edmond Memorial in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 and fell 32-29. Can the Redhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
