Recap: East Leopards vs. Granger Lancers
East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They wound up on the wrong side of a tough 26-16 walloping at the hands of the Granger Lancers. Both teams can probably skip cardio this week after making that many trips around the bases.
Tara Villata led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jack Wilson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
On Granger's side, they got a massive performance out of Haylie Harper, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with a home run, four runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Pianola Tua'One, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5.
East's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Granger, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-9.
East will be playing at home against Alta at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Granger, they will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Judge Memorial Catholic at 12:30 p.m. Granger has given up an average of 15.9 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
