Basketball Recap: Smithville Skates Past Caney with Ease

On Wednesday, everything came up roses for the Smithville Braves against the Caney Cougars as the squad secured a 60-18 victory. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 34 points or more this season.

Smithville pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Caney, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Smithville will head out to challenge Colbert at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Colbert will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Smithville surely won't give up without a fight. As for Caney, they are taking a road trip to face off against Erie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
