Baseball Game Preview: Burlingame Panthers vs. King's Academy Knights

The Burlingame Panthers will challenge the King's Academy Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Burlingame fell victim to Capuchino and their airtight pitching crew last Saturday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 1-0. The Panthers' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Dionisios Vorrises was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits.

Meanwhile, King's Academy also failed to score in their most recent game. They lost 8-0 to Carlmont on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Knights have suffered since May 28, 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for King's Academy and nudges their season record down to 7-6. As for Burlingame, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.

Burlingame skirted past King's Academy 7-6 in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
