Preview: Harding Raiders vs. Cardinal Mooney Cardinals
Harding has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Cardinal Mooney Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.
Last Saturday, it was a hard-fought matchup, but Harding had to settle for a 44-42 loss against East. The loss was Harding's first of the season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Akeelha Barnes, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nadia Mcqueen, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Mooney is still winless after their matchup against John F. Kennedy Catholic on Monday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Cardinal Mooney fell just short of John F. Kennedy Catholic by a score of 51-48. While losing is never fun, Cardinal Mooney can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 630th, while John F. Kennedy Catholic is ranked 110th).
Harding's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Cardinal Mooney, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4.
