Basketball Game Preview: Choctawhatchee Indians vs. Walton Braves

The Choctawhatchee Indians will take on the Walton Braves in a holiday battle at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Choctawhatchee will be strutting in after a win while Walton will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, Choctawhatchee beat Escambia 57-44. The Indians pushed the score to 46-26 by the end of the third, a deficit the Gators cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Walton came up short against South Walton on Wednesday and fell 54-43. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Braves came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 102nd, while the Seahawks are ranked 278th).

Walton's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Choctawhatchee, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.

Everything came up roses for Choctawhatchee against Walton when the teams last played back in February of 2017, as the squad secured an 85-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Choctawhatchee since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
