Basketball Recap: East Rowan Mustangs vs. South Rowan Raiders

The East Rowan Mustangs came into Friday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 63-62 win over South Rowan. The win was just what East Rowan needed coming off of a 76-32 loss in their prior matchup.

East Rowan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Bradley led the charge by scoring 18 points. It was the first time this season that Bradley scored 15 or more points. Jonathan Wembolua was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.

East Rowan's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-17. As for South Rowan, their defeat was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-19.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Rowan will take on the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northwest Cabarrus has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 348 points over their last five games. As for South Rowan, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Spiders at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Concord presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Raiders in North Carolina (the Spiders are ranked 183rd, while the Raiders are ranked 556th).
