Baseball Game Preview: Wamego Red Raiders vs. Abilene Cowboys

The Wamego Red Raiders will head out to take on the Abilene Cowboys on Friday. Wamego's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Abilene's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Wamego beat Baldwin 4-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Raiders.

Meanwhile, Abilene earned an 8-4 win over Chapman on Tuesday.

Abilene has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Wamego, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Wamego came up short against Abilene in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, falling 3-0. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
