Baseball Recap: Purchase Line Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Northern Cambria, Purchase Line was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Harmony Area Owls, sneaking past 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Devlan Kordish was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Kordish was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Wyatt Sheredy was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Purchase Line was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Purchase Line's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Harmony Area, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Purchase Line beat the Owls by a score of 13-2 later that day.
