Baseball Recap: Purchase Line Victorious

Purchase Line was handed a 17-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Harmony Area Owls 5-4. The Red Dragons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Owls, too.

Devlan Kordish made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Kordish was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Wyatt Sheredy, who went 3-for-4 with two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Purchase Line was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Purchase Line's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Harmony Area, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Purchase Line beat the Owls by a score of 13-2 later that day.
