Recap: Laguna Hills Hawks vs. Northwood Timberwolves
The Laguna Hills Hawks lost to the Northwood Timberwolves back in October of 2022, but The Laguna Hills Hawks didn't allow the Northwood Timberwolves the same satisfaction on Friday. Laguna Hills narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Northwood 31-28. Given Laguna Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Northwood is ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Laguna Hills can attribute much of their success to Ryan Mckevitt, who rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown.
Several Timberwolves players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Edward Ma, who threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns. Ma is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Joseph Harper was in the mix too, providing Northwood with two touchdowns.
Laguna Hills' victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Northwood, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Laguna Hills will be playing at home against Portola at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Portola is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Northwood, they will head out on the road to face off against Dana Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dana Hills will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
