Football Recap: Kent Island Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Kent Island, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 20-6 victory over the Bennett Clippers on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Buccaneers also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Jaxson Hess was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 119 yards and one score, and also picked up 75 receiving yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in October of 2024.

The win got Kent Island back to even at 2-2. As for Bennett, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Coming up, Kent Island is taking a road trip to face off against North Caroline at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Buccaneers will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.25 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bennett, they will square off against Easton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors' defense has only allowed 11.5 points per game this season, so the Clippers' offense will have their work cut out for them.
