Softball Recap: Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Triumphs

Chula Vista Learning Community Charter won against Bonsall on Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Cobras came out on top against the Ocean View Christian Patriots by a score of 11-6. The Cobras haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Adilynn Moreno made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times she's played.

In other batting news, Giuliana Ramos was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Alana Olivas was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Chula Vista Learning Community Charter's record now sits at 8-10. As for Ocean View Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chula Vista Learning Community Charter will take on Liberty Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Cobras surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ocean View Christian, they will face off against Bayfront Charter at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
