Softball Preview: Oak Park Eagles vs. Chaminade Eagles
We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Oak Park will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Oak Park had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Palisades on Friday. Oak Park was the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Palisades.
Erika Samuels tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Kirthi Paramasivan was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Julia Katz, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Chaminade, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 7-3 win over Legacy on Saturday.
Oak Park's record now sits at 4-2. As for Chaminade, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-5.
