Soccer Recap: Fossil Ridge Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Fossil Ridge was not quite Aledo's equal in the second half on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Aledo Bearcats by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 384th, while the Bearcats are ranked 140th).

Fossil Ridge has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. Aledo's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4.

Coming up, Fossil Ridge will challenge Chisholm Trail at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Fossil Ridge's last six games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Aledo, they will square off against Saginaw at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
