Volleyball Recap: Taylorville's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Taylorville had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Mt. Zion Braves. That's more bragging rights for the Tornadoes, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Taylorville who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-28, 25-21.

Taylorville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brogan Anderson led the charge by getting 15 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Anderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Robyn Ward, who had 15 kills, three digs, and three blocks.

Despite the loss, Mt. Zion still got an impressive performance from Addy Rotz, who had 16 digs and one assist.

Taylorville's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Mt. Zion, they dropped their record down to 13-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Taylorville has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Lincoln on the 25th. As for Mt. Zion, they will welcome Effingham at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
