Basketball Game Preview: Geneva Eagles vs. St. Francis Episcopal Wolves

The Geneva Eagles will take on the St. Francis Episcopal Wolves at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Geneva is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They put the hurt on Hill Country Christian School of Austin with a sharp 71-47 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, St. Francis Episcopal made easy work of Holy Cross on Saturday and carried off a 68-45 win. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Knights are ranked 572nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

St. Francis Episcopal's win came from a few key players Geneva will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Christian Hodge, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was O'Marion Harvey, who to rack up 17 points and six boards.

St. Francis Episcopal is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.4 points over those games. Geneva's record is now 31-5.
