Basketball Recap: Sho-Ban Comes Up Short

Sho-Ban lost against Rockland back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Sho-Ban Chiefs were beaten by the Rockland Bulldogs 53-20. The Chiefs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-7.

Rockland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Calyn Permann led the charge by putting up five points in addition to nine assists and eight steals. The dominant performance gave Permann a new career-high in assists. Alexa Permann was another key player, posting 12 points along with five boards and four steals.

With the loss, Sho-Ban broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-4. As for Rockland, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Sho-Ban will welcome Leadore at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Leadore's defense has only allowed 25.3 points per game this season, so Sho-Ban's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Rockland, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Aberdeen at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
