Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Sesser-Valier/Waltonville Red Devils walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 32-8 margin over Salt Fork. The victory was just business as usual for Sesser-Valier/Waltonville, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Sesser-Valier/Waltonville had a senior duo take command as Dez Malone gained 114 total yards and three touchdowns and Colt Packer threw for 138 yards and two touchdowns.
Sesser-Valier/Waltonville's win was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 11-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Christopher-Zeigler-Royalton and 1-8 Pinckneyville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.7% over those games). As for Salt Fork, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
