Baseball Recap: McCreary Central Takes a Loss

McCreary Central has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.13 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They came up short against the Wayne County Cardinals, falling 10-1. The Raiders' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

McCreary Central saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tristen West, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

McCreary Central's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Wayne County, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.

Coming up, McCreary Central will head out to face off against Oneida at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Wayne County, they will host Cumberland County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.4 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
