Baseball Game Preview: Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans vs. Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Southern School of Energy and Sustainability will face off against Durham School of the Arts. Southern School of Energy and Sustainability will challenge Durham School of the Arts at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Southern School of Energy and Sustainability is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Durham School of the Arts on Tuesday. The win continues a trend for the Spartans in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Carlos Joseph made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Southern School of Energy and Sustainability is 2-1 when Joseph allowsthree or fewer earned runs, but 0-7 otherwise. Joseph was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cameron Grier, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Durham School of the Arts and nudges their season record down to 4-4. As for Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.
