Hononegah had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 27-15 win over the Rockford Auburn Knights on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jacob Duval went supernova, rushing for 203 yards and three TDs while picking up 10.7 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hononegah was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 228 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 172 rushing yards in four consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Hononegah didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Maxwell Jacobs and Mykell Mueller.

When it comes to explaining why Rockford Auburn lost, don't look at Gavin Sanders. Despite the final result, he rushed for 140 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.

Hononegah has already played their next contest, a 28-12 victory against Jefferson on the 5th. As for Rockford Auburn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 28-6 defeat against Harlem on the 6th.
