While Willow Canyon's win against Valley Vista wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats won by a set and slipped past the Monsoon 3-2. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Monsoon recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Willow Canyon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 22-25, 21-25, 25-15, 25-17, 15-11.

Jackson Blair paced Willow Canyon's offense, picking up 22 kills. Blair got some help from Ben Perkins and his 40 assists.

Willow Canyon's win bumped their record up to 18-8. As for Valley Vista, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-9.

Looking ahead, Willow Canyon will square off against Canyon View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Valley Vista, they will host Cesar Chavez at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Monsoon are facing the Champions at the right time seeing as the Champions are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
