Volleyball Recap: Corner Canyon Chargers vs. Bingham Miners

After flying high against Copper Hills back in March, Corner Canyon came back down to earth. The Chargers fell just short of the Bingham Miners by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. It was the first time this season that the Chargers let down their fans at home.

Corner Canyon wouldn't go down easily and took Bingham into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking nine-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-19, 25-27, 25-13, 15-6.

Cooper Varner paced Corner Canyon's offense, picking up 14 kills. Varner got some help from Archer Burke and his 32 assists. Cooper Young controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Corner Canyon's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Bingham, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Corner Canyon has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Mountain Ridge on the 17th. As for Bingham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Copper Hills on the 17th.
