Baseball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Adrian Soto and Brady Vanderlaske Lead Flowing Wells to Victory

Flowing Wells won against Pueblo on Tuesday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Caballeros beat the Warriors by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-2 on Tuesday.

Yandel Rios-Arvayo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Rios-Arvayo was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, Flowing Wells let Brady Vanderlaske and Adrian Soto run wild. Vanderlaske got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Soto went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave Soto a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bruce Gonzalez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Flowing Wells always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.

Flowing Wells' record is now 8-16-1. As for Pueblo, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

When Flowing Wells and Pueblo next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. The Caballeros will square off against Buena and their 11-game winning streak at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pueblo will try to stop Nogales' three-game winning streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
