Basketball Game Preview: Shelby Whippets vs. Ashland Arrows

The Shelby Whippets will take on the Ashland Arrows at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Shelby beat Ontario 69-65.

Meanwhile, Ashland was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 59-58 to Lexington. The loss continues a trend for the Arrows in their matchups with the Minutemen: they've now lost six in a row.

Shelby's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Ashland, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.

Everything went Shelby's way against Ashland in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Shelby made off with an 84-61 victory. Will Shelby repeat their success, or does Ashland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
