Softball Recap: Danville Warriors vs. South Vermillion Wildcats

Danville's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the South Vermillion Wildcats out 5-3.

Allie Gunter was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

On South Vermillion's side, Brilee Schimmel made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-4 with three doubles and two RBI.

Danville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for South Vermillion, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Danville is on the road again on Monday to play Avon at 6:00 p.m. Danville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season. As for South Vermillion, they will head out on the road to face off against Covington at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
