Recap: Peru Nighthawks vs. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians
The Peru Nighthawks and the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk Indians squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Peru Nighthawks had to settle for second. Peru took a serious blow against Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, falling 42-7. Peru's loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
Ethan Breen threw for 135 yards and a touchdown. landen duprey was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kaden Potter out in front who threw for 191 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 passes, and also punched in a rushing scores. Jack McFerran also helped out with an impressive 92 receiving yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Peru to a paltry 174 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid the passer out 4.5 times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Ethan Green and his two sacks.
Peru's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk, they have yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 12-0 record.
Peru does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk will be playing in front of their home fans against Rye at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rye will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
