Baseball Game Preview: Sylmar Spartans vs. Verdugo Hills Dons

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Verdugo Hills' offense. They came up short against Sylmar on Monday, falling 11-0. The Dons haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Verdugo Hills got a good showing from Jessie Olmos, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Olmos has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Sylmar pushed their record up to 16-4 with the victory, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season.
