The Pine Grove Cardinals will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the North Schuylkill Spartans at 7:00 p.m. Pine Grove will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 625th, while North Schuylkill is ranked 258th).
Pine Grove suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 70-43 loss at the hands of Pottsville.
Meanwhile, North Schuylkill stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They put the hurt on Kutztown with a sharp 71-50 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win North Schuylkill has posted since December 21, 2023.
North Schuylkill had a senior duo take command as Jack Keiter scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five assists and Zane Zulkowski scored 28 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zulkowski has scored all season. jude maziekas was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Pine Grove's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-13. As for North Schuylkill, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
