Softball Recap: King Find Success

King's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They never let the Greenwich Country Day Tigers get on the board and left with a 13-0 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Vikings considering their one-run performance the game before.

Elizabeth Tuttle made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Warde, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Emma Drexel, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

King now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Greenwich Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. King is set to square off against their familiar foe Greens Farms Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Greenwich Country Day will take on rival Canterbury School at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
