Volleyball Recap: Sangre de Cristo Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Sangre de Cristo was the 2-1 winner over La Junta when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Thunderbirds took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Saturday.

Belle Bieriger paced Sangre de Cristo's offense, picking up five kills. Bieriger got some help from Desarey Ojeda and her seven assists. Ojeda was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Sangre de Cristo's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for La Junta, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Sangre de Cristo wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Hoehne on the 23rd. As for La Junta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Monte Vista on the 23rd.
