Basketball Recap: Terry Sanford Takes a Loss

Terry Sanford lost against South View back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Terry Sanford Bulldogs took an 81-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South View Tigers.

When it comes to explaining why Terry Sanford lost, don't look at Jamaal Miller. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Brady Shortridge, who posted ten points and five boards.

Even though they lost, Terry Sanford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Antrell Gilmore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South View, going 11 of 17 on his way to 30 points and six steals. That's the most steals Gilmore has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Demarcus Spearman, who had ten points in addition to eight boards and five assists.

Terry Sanford has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for South View, they moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Terry Sanford didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-56 win against Douglas Byrd on the 20th. As for South View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-55 loss against Seventy-First on the 20th.
