Basketball Recap: Landon Thompson Key Part of a Team Effort in Trojans Win

New Castle won against Mississinewa last Saturday with 57 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. The New Castle Trojans managed a 57-52 victory over the Richmond Red Devils. The Trojans didn't have much to brag about two games back, but this win makes it their second in a row.

New Castle's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Thompson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Miller, who went 5 of 9 en route to 18 points.

New Castle's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Richmond, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-8.

New Castle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-47 victory against Connersville on the 11th. As for Richmond, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 76-62 win against Phalen Leadership Academy on the 11th.
