Softball Recap: Westerly Falls Short Against Ranked Barrington

Westerly faced Barrington in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Bulldogs fell 12-8 to the Eagles. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Addison Poole made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Alison Maranda was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Westerly's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Barrington, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Westerly wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-7 win against East Providence on the 2nd. As for Barrington, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-3 victory against South Kingstown on the 1st.
