Basketball Game Preview: James Lick Comets vs. Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors

James Lick and Yerba Buena are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The James Lick Comets will head out to challenge the Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

James Lick is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on San Jose with a sharp 62-38 win on Wednesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Comets as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Yerba Buena hadn't done well against Overfelt recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Yerba Buena secured a 47-43 W over Overfelt.

James Lick better keep an eye on Brandon Tran. He was instrumental in Yerba Buena's win, putting up 31 points. Thien Nguyen was another key player, earning six points.

James Lick's record is now 3-15. As for Yerba Buena, their record now sits at 2-17.

James Lick skirted past Yerba Buena 61-58 in their previous matchup on January 8th. The rematch might be a little tougher for James Lick since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
