Soccer Game Preview: Glen Allen vs. Godwin

Glen Allen is 1-8-1 against Godwin since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Jaguars will challenge the Eagles at 7:30 p.m.

Glen Allen is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Wednesday. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Matoaca. While losing is never fun, Glen Allen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while Matoaca are ranked 110th).

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Godwin made sure to put some goals up on the board against Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Vikings. Godwin haven't had any issues with Thomas Jefferson recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Godwin's record now sits at 7-2-1. As for Glen Allen, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-10-1.

Glen Allen came up short against Godwin when the teams last played back in April, falling 3-1. Can the Jaguars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
