Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lemont). They put the hurt on the Thornton Fractional North Meteors with a sharp 21-0 win on Friday. The Lemont HS might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 21 games by six runs or more this season.
Sydney Kibbon was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.
In other batting news, Ava Zdenovec was a standout: she fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Natalie Pacyga was another key player, firing off six RBI, three doubles, and two runs while going 4-for-4.
Lemont lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
