Basketball Recap: New Dimensions Gets the Win

New Dimensions hadn't done well against Lakeland Christian recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. New Dimensions managed a 69-65 win over the Lakeland Christian Vikings. For New Dimensions, this counts as revenge for the 55-53 victory Lakeland Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Lakeland Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being DJ Howard, who posted 21 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. With that strong performance, Howard is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Joseph Donohue was another key player, putting up 19 points along with six boards and three steals.

New Dimensions' record now sits at 2-6. As for Lakeland Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

New Dimensions will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. New Dimensions knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Liberty likes a good challenge. As for Lakeland Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-68 defeat against Vanguard on the 20th.
