Baseball Recap: Jackson Prep Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Jackson Prep ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Riverfield Academy Raiders 5-4. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Patriots also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2025.

Sam Miller tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over 4.1 innings pitched. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Jackson Prep let Hayden Davidson and Sam Milner run wild. Davidson went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Milner went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kevin Roberts Jr., who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

Jackson Prep now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Riverfield Academy, their record now sits at 0-2.

Jackson Prep and Riverfield Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Patriots see the field they'll take on St. Andrew's Episcopal at 6:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for Riverfield Academy, their break will end when they face St. Aloysius at 7:00 p.m. on March 3.
