Football Recap: Grant Lorentzen and Fiheem Howell Secure Win for Kennedy Memorial

Kennedy Memorial waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 33-14 win over the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders. The Mustangs pushed the score to 33-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raiders cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Kennedy Memorial to victory were Fiheem Howell and Grant Lorentzen. Howell rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns, while Lorentzen picked up 101 receiving yards and three TDs. Lorentzen has been hot recently, having posted two or more receiving touchdowns the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Richie Trotman, who threw for 101 yards and three TDs on perfect 6-for-6 passing.

Kennedy Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Scotch Plains-Fanwood, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Kennedy Memorial will face off against North Plainfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Scotch Plains-Fanwood, they will square off against Cranford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
