Basketball Recap: Irion County's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Irion County had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They put the hurt on the Veribest Falcons with a sharp 68-47 victory. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Irion County is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Veribest, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.

Coincidentally, Irion County and Veribest will both be playing Water Valley the next time they take the court. Irion County will host Water Valley at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while Veribest will host them at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
