Softball Game Preview: Devine Warhorses vs. Sabinal Yellowjackets

The Devine Warhorses will take on the Sabinal Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Devine's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Saturday's struggle, when Burbank hitters got past them. Devine lost 10-0 to Burbank on Saturday. The game marked the first time this year in which the Warhorses were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Sabinal fell victim to Lytle and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Pirates, falling 16-0.

Devine's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.3 runs. As for Sabinal, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-1.

Everything went Devine's way against Sabinal in their previous meeting back in February of 2018, as Devine made off with a 9-0 victory. Does Devine have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sabinal turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
