Softball Preview: Ocoee Knights vs. Windermere Wolverines

Ocoee is 1-8 against Windermere since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Knights will be taking part in a tournament against the Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Windermere will be up against a hot Ocoee squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Knights blew past West Orange 19-3 on Friday.

Addy Sims looked comfortable as she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Shyanne Marble was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Zoey Gray was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 2-for-4.

Lauren Harper made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Harper was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Windermere got a massive performance out of Tristan Trimbee, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Sophie Shaik, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Ocoee's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Windermere, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ocoee has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .503. However, it's not like Windermere struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
