Recap: Coconino Panthers vs. Flagstaff Eagles
The Coconino Panthers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 56-14 victory over Flagstaff. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-14.
Bridger French was his usual excellent self, rushing for 133 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 carries. French hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for six straight games. Crew Cauthen made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Despite the loss, Flagstaff still got an impressive performance from Jadon Wetzel, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 69 receiving yards.
Coconino is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Flagstaff, they have yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 2-8 record.
Coconino will head out on the road to face off against Arcadia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Arcadia is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Flagstaff does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
